at ABC, Glasgow

Review by Barry Gordon from The Daily Record
The last time The Lemonheads played Glasgow the ABC was still functioning as a cinema.
In fact, singer-guitarist Evan Dando was in such a rush to make up for lost time, he and his band (featuring former members of hardcore group The Descendents) torpedoed through almost 15 songs within half an hour.
Dressed in a brown cardigan, his face obscured by his long, floppy hair, Dando's voice sounds as rich as ever. After performing Nirvanaesque versions of It's A Shame About Ray and Big Gay Heart, the former poster pin-up performed a brief acoustic set, before closing with the country-tinged Into Your Arms.
The only gripe was the lack of an encore. But that's what Dando does best... he leaves you wanting more.
