Review of Become The Enemy
by Mike Sterry

From NME, October 2006

Sure, congrats are due to Evan Dando for getting his shit together and for this being the first Lemonheads single for almost a decade, but 'Become The Enemy' is a bucket of guff. The experience of putting on a new Lemonheads single only to hear this must be like the disappointment felt by those kids who get excited about roadtripping across Route 66 only to discover that it's mile upon mile of blank, dusty highway, redneck settlements and The World's Largest Ball Of Twine. Dando's voice is duller than the communal razor on The Magic Numbers' tourbus and the rest of the track plods along like it's walking five miles to the post office in a downpour. Decidedly unpleasant.
