Evan Dando's recipe for ice cream sauce
From Sassy July 1992
We are blessed this month with guest "Eat This" author Evan Dando, the foxy 25-year-old lead singer-guitarist-songwriter for alternative rock band The Lemonheads. Their brand-new album, It's a Shame About Ray, is sounding a bit Replacements-ish, with lyrics by His Beautiful Blond Sadness sticking in your head until you can't help singing them as you walk down the street. Juliana Hatfield plays bass on the record, by the way.
PS. For some reason Evan likes wearing his pajamas, even while performing.
Evan Dando Makes a Hard Sauce
The best chocolate sauce hardens when you pour it over ice cream.
The blueprint was devised by my friend Polly Noonan. If she can find a companion/partner/lover named
Knight, like Ted Knight* she'll marry him. Their first child will be called Morning Noonan Knight.
Eat this any time you like.
Have a good appetite.
Love,
Evan Dando
*Yes, we're aware he's dead.
